Overview
When creating discounts, you'll want to make sure that menu items that are applicable are able to be discountable. Conversely, if you have items that are never discountable, you may want to set an item as not discountable. This is a setting within each product.
Instructions
- In the Legacy Admin, open the Menus until you find the Menu that you wish to make changes to
- Once the Menu is open, navigate to Product
- Entities: (What Menu Items are we updating?)
- Filter the items you are updating by searching for a key word that all the menu items share. After you type the key word in the search bar, hit enter for the search to update.
- Check the boxes next to the menu items that you are updating. Your screen should look like the example below
- Example: Searched Gourmet then clicked Enter
- Checked all Gourmet Pizza's to move them over to the right hand side since I want to update their properties
- Example: Searched Gourmet then clicked Enter
- You do not need to open any fields in the Entity section since we'll be navigating through the menu item menu itself so click Submit
- Select the Individual Menu Item that you are updating by clicking on the Name of the item in the first category, a new tab will appear
- Open Up Product Info
- Scroll to the Properties Section and find the Discountable Yes/No buttons
- If you want this product to have the ability to be discounted, make sure the radio button is on Yes
- If this product cannot be discounted, make sure the radio button is on No
- After you've updated the property, scroll to the bottom and click Submit. This will save all changes made within this page
- The Menu will need to be published for the changes to appear, follow insturctions within this article: How To Publish a Menu
