Menu Builder
The Menu Builder tool is designed to make menu creation and management more efficient, with clear visibility into menu structures, and helpful features like item duplication and drag-and-drop sub-elements.
Some functionality (e.g., bulk editing and split items) remains in the legacy admin at this time as we re-work how these are handled. A separate tool will cover bulk edits in the future.
Accessing the Menu Builder
In the Admin, look at the left-hand menu.
Scroll about halfway down and select Menu.
Legacy Menu Builder - old admin (this is not the new menu builder tool).
All Menus - opens the new menus list, leading to the Menu Builder tool.The menu list defaults to Root menus (where most building happens).
To view child menus, update or remove the filter.
Opening a Menu
Click the ellipses at the end of the menu row.
Options include:
Open Builder Tools - open the menu builder to create or modify menu items within the selected menu
Publish Menu - publish only this menu
Edit - edits the menu name and can make a menu a national menu
Create Child Menu - creates child menus off of the selected menu

Left Panel: Element selection panel (in orange below)
Right Panel: Detailed editor for the selected element (in blue below)
Accessing Items
Use the Element Type dropdown to filter for specific items.
Create new items with the blue “+” button (top right).
Selecting an item opens its details in the right-side panel.
Menu Item Details
Menu Item Tabs
Each menu element has a details editor with settings organized under tabs. The tabs differ per item type, and below are examples of what may be available under each tab:
- Basic Info
Name, active checkbox, price, tax bucket, fee bucket, upsell tag, food type
Display
Settings (allow comments, quick add, show quantity, etc.)
Localized text
UI Templates
Price display
Availability
Lead time
Publish target
Fulfillment type
ASAP only
Effective/Expiration dates
Time frames
Toppings (Products, Option items)
Topping sets (product level only)
Preselected toppings (product level only)
Price tiers - the prices for full/half toppings within each topping tier
Sub-Options/Elements Panel
Tree view of all attached elements
Create new elements and/or drag-and-drop elements into this panel to build out the item structure
Drag elements above or below others to re-arrange the sort order of the items
Beware - updating child items will update that item across the current menu. E.g. From a Product, updating the attached Option Item sort order will update the sort order for that Option outside of the current Product.
Upsells
Upsell groups and items associated with the item
Create new elements and/or drag-and-drop elements into this panel to build out upsells attached to the item
POS Entries
Point of Sale codes associated with the item
Menu Item Actions
There are a few actions you can take with menu items. These include:
Duplicate
Creates a shallow copy of the menu element.
The item itself is duplicated, with a prompt for updating certain settings.
Attached elements are not duplicated, but the relationship between them and the new element will exist.
Update
Saves your changes to the menu element.
The update applies to the entire item, not individual tabs.
Allows editing across multiple tabs, then click Update when finished.
Delete
Deletes the menu element.
Attached elements are not deleted—only the selected element is removed.
