Publishing Menu Changes
Menu changes require publishing to the live sites. There are two parts to publishing menus:
- Publish Live Data to Preview
- This publishes menus to the preview queue.
- Make Current Previews Public
- This takes the menus in the preview queue public and publishes then to the online ordering site.
In order to publish a menu, it has to be published to preview, and then that preview taken public.
Publishing All Menus
To publish all menus, click Menu Publisher on the top left of the legacy admin:
This opens up the menu publisher screen, where you see two buttons:
- Publish Live Data to Preview
- This publishes menus to the preview queue.
- Make Current Previews Public
- This takes the menus in the preview queue public and publishes then to the online ordering site.
To publish all menus to the preview queue, click Publish Live Data to Preview. This can take a few minutes to complete.
To then publish all menus to the online ordering site, click Make Current Preview Public.
After both have been completed, the menus should now be live on the online ordering menu. Of note: menus have to be published to preview and then published public to apply to the online ordering site.
Publishing a Single Menu
To publish a single menu (and all children menus under this menu), open the Menus dropdown in the left hand menu.
Open up the Children folder under the Root menu.
Find the menu that you are looking for, it may require opening further Children menus.
Right click on the menu name. You'll see two options: Refresh and Publish Restaurant
Click Publish Restaurant and this menu will be published. Note: All inherited (children) menus under this menu will also be published.
This publishes the menus to the preview queue. To publish the menu(s) public, click Menu Publisher in the top left corner
This opens up the menu publisher screen, where you see two areas:
- Current Preview Publish
- This shows the status of the current preview publish. You should notice the menu you published as in progress, or completed. You can check this by looking at the End Time (in UTC) and the Completed (If only one menu, this would show 1/1).
- Note: Do not click the Publish Live Data to Preview button. This publishes all menus to the preview queue. You have already published your selected menu to preview.
- Current Previews
- Once your menu is completed publishing to preview, click Make Current Previews Public. This takes the menus in the preview queue public, publishing them to the online ordering site.
