Item conditions are used primarily in discounts to apply a discount to menu element(s). Item conditions can also be used within lead times, payment, etc. in conjunction with a few of the Order Conditions (OrderContainsItem and ItemSetMinimumTotal Order). Below are the types of Item Conditions available in the system:
Item Condition Grouping
Like order condition grouping, you can combine two or more item conditions that you’ve already built and save them as one condition.
Coupon Ex: 15% off Large & XL Pizzas (Condition: Group - Pizza – All Large & XL)
Item in Category Item Condition
This will apply to all items within a category.
Coupon Ex: 15% off Appetizers (Condition: Category - Appetizers – All)
Option Item Selected Item Condition
This allows you to select a single option item. You first select one option and then are able to select one of its option items to create the condition. This limits you to one selection for the option item.
Coupon Ex: 15% off Diet Coke 2 Liters (Condition: Option Item – 2 Liter - Diet Coke)
Option Option Item Selected Item Condition
This condition allows you to select multiple option items. This is the most used item condition, since you are able to select multiple option items to apply the condition.
Coupon Ex. 15% off all Large Specialty pizzas. (Condition: Pizza – Specialty – All Large)
Specific Food Type Item Condition
Not all sites use this designation on products, but some examples of the labels include Entrées, Desserts, Appetizers, etc. Where this would be of use, is when you are attempting to apply it to a type of product that may be spread across multiple categories. For example, if you have Pizzas, Subs, and Salads in three different categories on the menu, but want to discount all Entrées.
(Like the minimum number fed order condition, this property must be used on the products for it to be applicable)
Coupon Ex. 15% off all Entrées. (Condition: Food Type – Entrées)
Specific Menu Item Condition
Use this when wanting to apply the condition to a product. This limits the selection to one product.
Coupon Ex. 15% off Meatball Subs. (Condition: Product – Meatball Subs)
