Side Dish Groups
Side Dish Groups are how you group Products together as upsells, most commonly found at the end of an order, but can also be placed on a Product or Combo as well. Side Dish Groups can also be used to create Bundle Builder Products, were users are stepped through a grouped collection of items to add a bundle to their cart.
Creating New Side Dish Groups
To create a Side Dish Group, open the menus panel in the left side menu, and under the Root menu, right click Side Dish Groups. select Create New Side Dish Group. Below are the most pertinent information for Side Dish Groups.
Side Dish Group Info
Name: Enter a Name for your new Side Dish Group. This Name will only appear in the Admin Account and not on the Online Ordering Site. The Name for the Online Ordering Site will be set in the Localized Text section.
Tags String: Note: If completing a Bundle Builder Product, you do not need to add the bundle builder tag (ui-MenuItem-BundleBuilder) to the Side Dish Group. This will go on the actual products.
Localized Text
This is the text that will appear on the Online Ordering Site which customers will view. This is the same as other items. For Side Dish Groups, the most pertinent information is the Title.
Title: Enter the Title of the Side Dish Group for the Online Ordering Site here. Select each checkbox where you would like this Title to appear under Context. You can also select the Languages and Scope for this title.
Active
Check the box if the Side Dish Groupshould be Active on the Online Ordering Site.
End of Order
Check this box if the Side Dish Group should be an end of order upsell (appear after a customer has navigated to the cart). Note: To set up end of order items to display items based on what is in a customer's cart, see this article.
Products
In this section, you will add Products to this Side Dish Group. Scroll through the list of Products, or use the search field to filter specific Products. Each Product selected will appear on the right side of the table and be added to the Side Dish Group.
Add to Products/Combos
If the item is not an end of order upsell, and should be added to a specific product(s) or combo(s), you will navigate to said product(s) or combo(s) and open them. Under Side Dish Groups at the bottom, you will add the newly created side dish group.
For Bundle Builder, you will add the next item's Side Dish Group to the previous item's product. For example: Large Pizza, 12 Wings, and 2 Liter
- The Side Dish Group for 12 Wings would be added to the Large Pizza
- The Side Dish Group for 2 Liter would be added to the 12 Wings
End of Order Upsell Display
The End of Order Upsell display is set outside of the menu. This is set under Settings -> Brand Information -> Brand Storefront. You'll see a checkbox that says "Display End of Order Items in a Dialog," selecting this has the end of order items display in a pop up to the customer. Not checking this has the items display on the checkout page itself, underneath the customer's cart.
