Combos and Combo Selections
Combos are a type of menu element that combine multiple products to create a
package deal. These are mostly used for special packages for clients. Similar to
seeing a McDonald’s Meal, or a Pizza and Wings deal.

Combo Properties
There are several properties on a combo to choose from. While some are similar to products, others are more relevant to combos. We have listed the combo ones below.
- Discountable - If you want the item to be able to be discounted. If a combo is a special promotion, this may be set to no, to not allow additional discounts.
- Show When Unavailable - If a location wants the items to show/be advertised, even when
unavailable, this would be set to Yes. Most of the time it is set to No. - Default Price - This can be tricky, as prices can be set here, as with this combo, on the
individual combo selections, or pull the price from the products themselves. In order to pull the
price from the selections or products, this will be set to 0.00. - Category Price Display - This shows how the price is shown on the combo. Most commonly it is
set to Itemized, and could be set to other options. - Feeds is sometimes used by a location to indicate the amount fed for a combo. This is not commonly used.
- For the other tabs - Availability and Side Dish Groups work exactly the same as other menu
elements. Availability allows a user to specify when an item may be available on the ordering site. This includes date range, times, even fulfillment types. - Combo Selections - where you’ll attach the combo selections, aka the groups of items that make up the combo.
Combo Selections
Combo Selections are groups of products that are offered under a combo. It also allows for adjustments to the products offered within Combos, such as price override, min/max topping details, and hiding different sizes/modifiers. There will be one combo selection for each offering in the combo - for example, if you are offering Create Your Own - 1 Topping and 6 Twists, there would be one combo
selection for Create Your Own, and another one for 6 Twists.
To build a Combo Selection, it is the same process as other menu elements - you open the
Menu drop down on the left panel and right click on Combo Selection, selecting Create New
Combo Selection.
Combo Selection Properties
- Selection Info - This contains your localized text for the selection and the Active toggle
- Selection Elements - This is where you attach the products you want available for the combo.
Each item for the selection would be under here - for example, Pizzas would include all available pizzas; 6 twists would include both Garlic Twists and Cinnamon Twists.
Selection Elements
This is where you attach the products you want available for the combo. Each item for the selection would be under here - for example, Pizzas would include all available pizzas; 6 twists would include both Garlic Twists and Cinnamon Twists.
- The products are added much like any other menu element, by checking the box to move the
item to the selected side. - Once the item is in the section, you’ll notice several properties underneath:
- Price - This is if you want to override an item’s price from the price that is offered normally on
the menu. A combo of $25 pizza and $5 Twists may be set as $20 on each pizza and then $5 on each twist. If you are setting the price on the combo itself, such as $29.99 Large 1-Topping
Pizza & 6 Twists, then this price needs to be set to $0.00. - Default Quantity - This is for if you want the item to be preselected within the combo selection. If so, you would set this setting to 1.
- Free Toppings - To offer free toppings on an item, such as a 2-Topping Pizza
- Max Toppings - Limit the amount of toppings allowed to order on a pizza
- Hidden Items (see below)
- Price - This is if you want to override an item’s price from the price that is offered normally on
Hidden Items
Selection Elements have a button named “Hidden Items.” This is how you limit your elements in the combo to one size (Large, Medium, etc.). You can also hide other elements/modifiers of the item by using this feature.
- Clicking Hidden Items on an element opens up a dialogue window with check boxes.
- In the dialogue window, you will check all options that will not be available in the combo. For
example, for 6 twists, you would not have quantity of 3, 8, 12, 18,. or 24, available, so they would
get a check mark. The quantity of 6 would not, so that this size is still available to order within the
combo. - Make sure to click close and to go through each selection element to complete.
- Press submit on the bottom of the page to save your combo selection.
- It is now ready to attach to the combo you created, under the combo selections tab on the combo.
Adding Combo Selections to Combos
Adding the Combo Selections to the Combos is the same as other products or options. You’ll either create a new combo following the details at the beginning of this guide, or you will open your already created combo to add the selection to the combo.
- Open/Create Combo
- Open Combo Selections Tab
- Add Combo Selections to the tab you created.
- Press submit, publish and your combo is ready to be ordered.
Note: Bundle Builder Products are different, as they are set up as individual items, rather than a Combo with one item grouping. For instructions on those, please follow here.
